Pharmacy informatics is not a new term. Perhaps it sounds new because it is somewhat unfamiliar and often evokes a sense of confusion or overwhelming fear (technology – gasp!). The reality, however, is that pharmacy informatics is a key component of nearly every aspect of the medication distribution process. And while some members of the pharmacy team may be hesitant to learn new skills related to technology, the integration of pharmacy informatics into pharmacy practice settings is essential to achieve optimal patient care. Dip your toe into the technology pool with this course, and walk away confidently equipped with skills and resources related to pharmacy informatics.
