Improve Quality, Recognize Issues, and Decrease Errors

Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Programs have proven beneficial and effective at preventing pharmacy errors. Each member of the pharmacy team has a corresponding responsibility to ensure consistent, improved quality of work through ongoing assessment, learning, internal reflection, and adaptation. This course will highlight the importance of CQI Programs in pharmacy practice settings and demonstrate their effectiveness at evaluating, decreasing, and preventing pharmacy errors. By taking a closer look at real examples of pharmacy errors using a root cause analysis method, learners will walk away with useful skills to implement to decrease pharmacy errors and optimize patient care.
